Evektor SportStar SL
Our new Evektor SportStar is priced at $210-00 per hour dual inclusive of fuel and landings at Aldinga Airfield. The basic Recreational Licence is a minimum of 20 hours, but realistically most people will want to add passenger carrying and radio endorsements which takes the course to an minimum of 30 hours. So a mimimum budget figure of $6300 excluding the personal bits would be about right.
CubCrafters Sport Cub
If you have ambitions to fly Tailwheel, then start right, start in the Cub! You will perhaps find that the Cub demands higher standards of handling, but we all believe that the rewards are also greater.
We have found that with over 2000 hours Tailwheel training now behind us, that overall 'time to licence' does not change over the nosewheel route, but we produce better quality pilots! However, there is a small financial price to pay......the Sport Cub is $230 an hour for training.
Cessna 172S
Our Cessna 172S VH-BTR, year 2000 and Cessna 172S VH-WHB Garmin 1000 equipped, year 2006, are currently $305 per hour dual inclusive of GST, fuel and landings at Aldinga Airfield.
The basic PPL course is a minimum of 40 hours, so your total budget needs to be a minimum of $12200.
PA28 Archer III
VH-OKY is also available for you 'low wing afficianados'. Dual Garmin 430 GPS/Coms and 2 axis autopilot , make this a great tourer/trainer @ $320 an hour/ $280 an hour hire and fly.
Piper Super Cub
Ab initio tailwheel training in the CubCrafters Sport Cub, also Tailwheel Endorsement training both on the Super Cub ($320-00 per hour) and Super Decathlon ($325-00 per hour). The Tiger Moth is available for training, although we insist that trainees are competent in the Super Cub prior to taking Tiger Moth training ($375-00 per hour). Aerobatic and Stall/Spin Awareness training is available on the Super Decathlon.
8KCAB Super Decathlon VH-IYA
The 'Decath' is a great aircraft for CSU training, aerobatics and even for your Commercial Pilot Licence. Anyone who is tailwheel trained will transition seamlessly onto this 'HOTROD'.
Cirrus SR20 VH-OCT
Slick, fast and half glass cockpit, 140-150 knot tourer for up to 3 passengers. This aircraft is also available for Commercial Pilot Licence training.
Cirrus SR22 VH-JRL
Flagship fast tourer and advanced trainer, 170 knotsTAS (True Air Speed) for 4 people in leather upholstered comfort. Full glass cockpit with enhanced situational awareness from the Garmin avionics and Avidyne screens. $450 dual, $410 hire and fly.
Mix and Match?
We can of course 'mix and match' the Recreational aircraft and the General Aviation aircraft. One popular option is to start off with the SportStar and transition onto the Cessna 172S or Cherokee PA 28 later in the course.
Trial Instructional Flight
These take the form of a short Instructional Flight to see if you are going to like it, before you commit yourself to taking lessons.
These flights can be taken in any of our aeroplanes with the exception of the Waco and the Tiger Moth. Prices are based around the hourly training rate for the relevant aeroplane as follows including GST and per clock hour

During this flight you will have the opportunity to take the controls under the supervision of an Instructor, and the basic effects of controls will be demonstrated and practiced. This is a 'hands on' flight and will be preceded by a short briefing.

All the aircraft are available for self fly hire (subject to competency, endorsements and currency). The prices are as follows including GST and per clock hour
